We'd like to share the story of our beautiful friend Leah, who courageously faced so many serious health issues, and fought her final battle in September.
Leah was one of the founding people at Full Pocket. She came to the Farm with her family often -- before we even opened -- to volunteer and give us feedback about our plans. She was a hard worker, getting down in the dirt and pulling weeds and planting in the hot Virginia heat! Leah always had a smile on her face and a kind, supportive word for everyone. She was generous beyond measure.
Leah loved being creative, and showed her talent working with clay, and making gifts of aromatherapy sprays and sachets with the plants grown at Full Pocket. She loved children and animals, and was especially taken with Rosie the dog and the goats. Leah also loved coming to the parties at the farm; helping plan, prepare snacks and decorating. Her famous chocolate chip cookies... yummmm!!! As her health suffered, she wasn't able to come as often as she wanted, but we were always elated to enjoy her friendship.
Leah will always be a part of Full Pocket Farm. In a beautiful, peaceful spot under the chestnut tree, we've planted roses and put a bench where people can rest and remember Leah and the people who have made a difference in our lives.
